5 Excuses For Getting Out Of Work Early

Staying at work all day long is bad for your spirit and health, especially if you work in a cubicle, which can suck the life out of you slowly (or quickly). If you can leave early, it’s best to do so. Below are some classic reasons to ditch your desk, for some sunshine, fresh air or even a Las Vegas pool party.

1. Animal Home Invasion

Rattlesnakes, bears, raccoons and bobcats are dangerous creatures, especially when they decide to invade your home and terrorize your family members. If you suspect such an occurrence, tell your boss immediately and head home to route the invasion. Safety first, right?

2. Pet Depression

Many people’s dogs and cats are like family members, and when they’re in pain, it can cause serious anxiety and stress for owners. So, if you receive a phone call that your pet is looking depressed and is behaving lethargically, maybe it’s best to go home and provide some comfort.

3. Pet Disappearance

Similarly, if your pet has wandered off or has simply vanished, it’s time to head home and form a search party. It takes a lot of effort to find a missing pet, so it’s best to get started right away. If they turn out to be in the backyard or in your bed underneath the covers, so be it. You don’t want to take any chances.

4. Toilet Flood

Flooding toilet water is no laughing matter. It can create all sorts of problems for you and the structures in your home. So, if you suspect this has happened, then it’s time to call it a day and head home. There is no reason to take the risk and sustain thousands of dollars of damage to your home. Your boss will understand. If your boss objects, explain that your bowel movements are particularly acidic and you could seriously damage your house if that kind of water gets all over everything.

5. Work From Home

If all else fails, just tell your boss you’ll work from home. You may not actually get around to it, but hey, sometimes it’s hard to verify whether you’re busy at work or at the pool.

If you need to escape the confines of your everyday grind, then make an excuse and grab a seat poolside. There is no reason to waste every second of your life doing the bidding of your boss or co-workers.
